“The Good, the Bad & the Ugly”
revisited—and some web site fun
I
haven’t done this now for about 3 years, but let’s go retro
for kicks--especially since I’ve learned a thing or two more
over that time about web sites and web marketing—mainly from
working with a number of diverse businesses.
There
is never one best way to present your business, products, and
services online. But I’m even more convinced that a Good (vs.
Ugly & Bad) web site—one with compelling content that the
right people can easily find—can be a tremendous marketing
asset to almost any business. OK, you’ve heard that from
me more than a few times before. Well, my estimate is still
less than 10% of web sites are doing much, if anything,
to effectively help their respective businesses. So in spite
of the billions of pages out there, there is tremendous
opportunity for your site.
Here’s the Deal: A Free NoSpin (The Good, The
Bad & the Ugly) Web Site Critique
So do
you have the guts to go under the NoSpin microscope? Come on.
It will be fun and could help your business online.
Here
are the questions you’ll also need to answer (in order to
qualify):
1)
What is the url to your homepage?
And, if you know, do you re-direct other url’s to your
site?
2)
What is the estimated daily traffic to your web
site?
“We do not track the traffic” is an acceptable
(although “ugly”) answer.
3)
How many (estimated) contacts and/or orders (if you have an
e-commerce site) do you get via your site per
week?
“We do not track contacts or orders” is an acceptable
(although “ugly”) answer
4)
How much actual business (e.g. estimated revenues) has your
web site actually helped you generate over the past
year?
“We do not know” is an acceptable (although “ugly”
answer unless your site or business is relatively
new)
That’s it. If your site is one of the 3 “winners,”
you’ll see your critique sometime in October.
